Remember last summer when glam girls Delaila and Kiara attended curl fest and made it #glamgirl approved. After raving about how great this event was, there was no way we could miss the 2nd annual Curl Fest held in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Although the duo could not make it together. Kiara was able to make an appearance on behalf of the both of us.
First off let me commend the Curly Girl Collective for putting together this wonderful event once again for everyone even when they had to post pone from an earlier date due to weather conditions. You ladies ROCK! Saturday August 29th, 2015 was the perfect day made for Curl Fest. Clear sunny skies and good vibes got all the naturalistas and people from not only NYC but from other parts of town as well to attend and enjoy an afternoon of fun.
Being that I attended the first Curl Fest, I was stunned with the amount of people that came out. Everyone and their momma (literally) came to Curl Fest. From the many curly ladies with their curly babies as well as men who love and embrace the movement. I even made my little curly sister Emily join me in the afternoon activities. We enjoyed the music and vendors and when our tummies got growling we indulged in some grilled cheese sandwiches, tater tots and Mac and cheese bites provided by the Gorilla Cheese Food Truck. Our swag bags came with many samples from some of my favorite brands like Cantu, Curls, and Shea Moisture. Super excited about that. Curl Fest embraces anyone who attends. The atmosphere and vibes are nothing short of empowering and positive. I can honestly say that Curl Fest is one of my favorite events to go to in NYC and the fact that it’s FREE makes it 100 times better for those ballin’ on a budget. I promise you that the glam girls will be in attendance for years to come. Be on the lookout for next year’s festival fiasco.
