8 Simple Ways to Winterize Your Skin
Tips to keep your skin looking healthy during the cold season.
Taking care of your skin in the Winter can seem a little challenging. If you can follow these simple steps you will be sure to have glowing skin throughout the season. The cold air and temperatures suck the moisture from our skins and dyrness can cause red and breakouts. Our beauty expert Delaila shares with you can get beautiful looking skin.
1. Hydrate from the outside in
Moisurizers are key. In the Winter a heavier moisturizer is necessary to add to your daily routine.
2. Use a Humidifier
Adding a humidifier to your bedroom can help add extra moisture which the skin absorbs. This helps to improve the tone and texture of your skin and decreases sinus sensitivity and also keeps nails and hair hydrated too.
3.Moisturize After Every Wash
User lotion or oils after showers or washing your hands. It helps to lock in moisture or else you can experience dry, cracked skin and brittle nails.
Using a sugar scrub can slough off dead cells and enhances the penetration of your moisturizer, thus giving skin a healthy glow.
5. Avoid Long Hot Showers and Baths
They cause dryness to the skin. Body moisturizers should be applied to damp skin.
6. Limit Blow Drying
Air drying is preferrable since blow drying dehydrates hair and results in brittle split ends.
7. Lip Exfoliators
Chapped lips are a sign of Winter days. Applying and re-applying lip balm is not the answer. Instead opt for a lip exfoliator at night to remove dead cells and follow with a spefically formulated lip moisturizer. The worst thing you can do is lick your lips. It will worsen chapping in the long run.
8. Apply Suncreen
The Summer time rays are not the only harmful ones. Just because the sun is not shining does not mean you are not getting harmful UV radiation. Apply a sunscreen everyday to all sun exposed areas.
