Overdose of Drunk In Love
Beyonce’s Visual Album Makes You Want To Fulfill More Than A Sexual Appetite
[Opinion Piece]
It has been a full week already and I can not stop listening to Beyonce’s self titled 5th studio album. There is no suprise that she would not disappoint. Every song explicit in its own way. It’s a beautiful thing that Bey has let us into her world. She gives you pieces at a time. Never too much but enough to keep you craving. That, I can admit she does very well. Bey is never overbearing or extra. Her projects come so perfectly tailored each one a masterpiece in its own right. And she does it over and over and over again. Effortlessly. And although so sexually open in this project she makes you yearn for more than just O’s. You listen to the lyrics and you get butterflies thinking of a love that could be deeper than the ocean. Thoughts of that special someone consume my mind and I can’t help fantasize how it will be when I meet him.
My personal favorite is Drunk in Love. From the moment I first listened to it I could not stop.
We woke up in the kitchen saying
“How the hell did this shit happen?”, oh baby
Drunk in love, we be all night
Last thing I remember is our
Beautiful bodies grinding off in that club
Drunk in love
These are lyrics so many of us can relate to. How many times have we had a good night out with our beau and wake up the next morning questioning how the both of you made it home. It’s one of those songs that makes you want to experience that crazy I can’t get enough of you love. You get to witness the intimate interaction between and Bey and Jay, who doesn’t want to be gazed at that way? Call me a mush but every girl dreams of being loved and wanting to love.
I am single, but this is no reason to feel down and out. Everyone will meet their prince charming and have a Drunk In Love moment of their own. I totally look forward to mine.
